We at Kagando Rural Development Center (KARUDEC) are delighted to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support of our projects over the years. Since our inception in 1965, KARUDEC has been committed to improving the lives of the people in the Kasese district, the Rwenzori region and beyond, through healthcare, education, and community development initiatives. Our flagship project, Kagando Hospital, has grown from a small dispensary to a 200-bed referral hospital, providing quality medical care to over 200,000 people annually.
Our Nursing School, established in 2005, has trained over 5000 nurses and midwives, who are now serving in various parts of Uganda and beyond while the School of Allied Health Sciences established in 2011 has trained over 550 laboratory and theater assistants. Our Community Development Program has also made significant strides in promoting economic empowerment, education, and environmental conservation among the local communities.
As we continue to grow and expand our impact, we are excited to announce the establishment of the Uganda Christian University- Kagando University College (UCU-KUC) .KUC is Uganda’s first and only University College specializing in Health Sciences, offering programs a Bachelor of Nursing Science, Bachelor of Midwifery Science, and Bachelor Medical Laboratory Sciences. This is a significant milestone for KARUDEC, and we believe it will enable us to increase access to quality education and healthcare services in the region.
